Basi.co

Basi.co is the creative partnership of brothers Carlos and Caio Carvalho from Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Both studied at the Politecnico di Milano, one of Europe's leading design institutions, before returning to Brazil to establish their practice through Studio RO+CA, their architecture and design firm.

Their design philosophy centers on a compelling paradox: achieving visual simplicity through complex handcraft. Each piece appears effortless in its form while concealing the sophisticated construction and material knowledge required to achieve such clarity. This tension between the simple and the complex gives their work its distinctive character.

For IBTW, Basi.co has developed the Maré and TuBoo collections — outdoor furniture that captures the relaxed elegance of Rio de Janeiro while meeting the exacting standards of the international luxury market. Their pieces are an invitation to experience Brazilian design at its most refined.
